Fashion in the 1980's
These were examples of how popular fashion were worn back in the 1980's 1980's was a important decade for fashion it started in the late 1970's but in the early 1980's it became a huge trend in the US. Both men's and women's started to wear loose clothing's like shirts & tights and close fitting trousers to make them look more fit and in style, this lead to a reverse role in fashion as in the 1970's clothing were more fitting on top and looser clothes on the bottom. In the Mids 1980's casual wear became a huge upcoming trend as fashion started to grow further and further. Leggings, played a huge role in this trend as girls usually wore them with large sweaters, sweatshirts in the Winter & oversized tees in the Summer with slouch socks and a pair of keds which was the most popular thing to do. Men's usually wore a casual t-shirt with a designer jacket, Suits in white, pastel or any bright colour, and loafers or boat shoes.

Television influenced many people due to various famous actors, TV shows & musicians,two famous people that influenced many people were Michael Jackson & Madonna who are today famously known for there style and music all over the world. Michael Jackson "Thriller" inspired many teenagers to replicate his looks & style which was matching red/black leather pants & jackets, one glove, sunglasses and his hairstyle which was the jheri curl. The famous rising icon pop star Madonna influence many women's as Michael Jackson influence many men's in the 1980's. When she first emerged during a music scene with her short skirt with leggings, necklaces, rubber bracelets, fishnets, headband, and bleached hair with dark roots millions of young girls started to follow this upcoming fresh trend. Hip Hop, Heavy Metal, and MC Hammer were also influences in clothing during the 1980's as each one of these genre of music have there own style of wear and are completely opposite from one another.
